Conversations with Satyam is a monthly online series that brings voices from the ground into dialogue aboutbringing voices from the ground into dialogue around current realities in Israel/Palestine for a global audience.
This Monday, June 29, Satyam Homeland welcomes Aida Touma-Sliman, Palestinian politician and member of the Israeli Knesset for a conversation on “Palestinian Voices Inside Israeli Institutions,” focusing on representation, resistance, and political reality.
Aida Touma-Sliman is a Palestinian citizen of Israel, feminist activist, journalist, and one of the most prominent Palestinian political leaders inside Israel. She has served in the Israeli Knesset since 2015 and brings decades of experience at the intersection of activism, journalism, and politics.
Before entering the Israeli Knesset, Aida Touma-Sliman co-founded Women Against Violence and helped establish the first shelters for battered women in Palestinian communities in Israel.
From this unique position, she brings insight into Palestinian life inside Israel, the relationship between different Palestinian realities, the role of political institutions, and the contribution of feminist leadership to conversations around violence, security, peace, and coexistence.
Satyam Homeland is a local and international community rooted in the Occupied West Bank. At a time when fear, violence, and separation increasingly shape daily life, Palestinians, Israelis, and internationals come together there to sustain human connection, engage difficult realities, and explore paths of nonviolent action and shared responsibility.
Through this series, Satyam Homeland offers a space to listen, learn, and reflect on current realities through direct encounters with people living and working within them.
