After a 17-year hiatus, the Bangladesh men’s cricket team is set to return to the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground for a Test match in England. Alongside this landmark fixture scheduled for May 2027, the Bangladesh women’s cricket team will also tour England to participate in a full white-ball bilateral series comprising One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
On Thursday, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) officially released its international schedule for 2027. The announcement confirmed the tours for both the Bangladesh men’s and women’s national teams, marking a new chapter in bilateral cricket ties between the two nations.
Historic Test Match at Lord’s
From May 28 to June 1, 2027, the Bangladesh men’s team will compete against host England in a single Test match at London’s Lord’s Cricket Ground, widely regarded as the ‘Home of Cricket.’ Bangladesh last played a Test match on English soil in 2010. Returning to Lord’s after more than a decade and a half carries significant weight, reinforcing Bangladesh’s status in international sports.
Welcoming the Bangladeshi contingents, ECB Chief Executive Officer Richard Gould said in an official statement: ‘We are thrilled to welcome the Bangladesh men’s team for the sole Test at Lord’s. This will be the first time since 2010 that we host Bangladesh in a home Test match. At the same time, we are delighted to host the Bangladesh women’s team for a white-ball series.’
Full White-Ball Series for the Women’s Team
Following the men’s Test match in May, the Bangladesh women’s cricket team will tour England in September. The itinerary features a three-match T20I series followed by a three-match ODI series.

* September 8: 1st T20I- Northampton
* September 10: 2nd T20I- Taunton
* September 12: 3rd T20I- Worcester
One Day International (ODI) Series Schedule:

Sports Diplomacy and Inclusivity
This tour holds substantial value for Bangladesh within the global sports arena. While the men’s team gains a prestigious opportunity to demonstrate its capabilities at the iconic Lord’s venue, the women’s team series reflects progress toward gender equity and inclusivity in international sports. Competing against a top-tier team like England on their home turf offers the Bangladesh women’s team vital exposure to strengthen their international presence.
