Nuclear abolition activists are coming to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Review Conference at the United Nations.

A gathering in front of the U.S. Mission to the United Nations
to call for complete nuclear disarmament.
World leaders will be in New York City for the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons Treaty (NPT) meetings at the United Nations headquarters to be held from April 27th to May 22nd. The Treaty is regarded as the cornerstone of global nuclear non-proliferation and an essential foundation for the pursuit of nuclear disarmament.
Activists will gather across from the U.N. in front of the U.S. Mission (First Avenue & 45th Street) to remind participants of their obligation to pursue complete nuclear disarmament, under Article VI of the Treaty. The Treaty states: “Each of the Parties to the Treaty undertakes to pursue negotiations in good faith on effective measures relating to cessation of the nuclear arms race at an early date and to nuclear disarmament, and on a treaty on general and complete disarmament under strict and effective international control.”
