Run This Way: running for the right of the youth of the planet to have a future without wars

4 മിനിറ്റ് വായിച്ചു

Today there are more than 50 conflicts across the planet. It is obvious that a globalized world, war has become an ineffective way to resolve conflicts. The more conflicts there are, the more economic insecurity we experience, while the future generations become threatened.

The organizing team of the World Marches for Peace and Nonviolence has been working tirelessly since 2009 to raise awareness among organizations, heads of state, economics leaders, religious leaders, businesses, and individuals worldwide on the importance of implementing diplomacy and nonviolent means to resolve conflict and defended the right for the future generation to live in a world without wars.

What is Active nonviolence?

Active nonviolence is a moral force, it’s a persuasive force that involves thousands, even millions, of people. It is a method of struggle to claim human rights, such as the right of today’ youth to live in a world without wars in the near future.

Run This Way for peace and nonviolence

Run This Way for peace and nonviolence was launched in 2011 by members of the organizing committee of the first World March for Peace and Nonviolence and members of the International World Without Wars and Without Violence.

Since 2011, more than 20,000 students across Quebec and from various countries have participated in the school program.

This year the 4World March for peace and nonviolence team invited students across Canada and United States to participate in the Run This Way program.

Run This Way fall edition – 2026

Teachers interested in the project can sign up and register to the Run This Way program on the website. All teachers and schools registered in the program will receive a guide explaining the activities during the month of August. Run This Way is a free program inclusive and open to the diversity of cultures, religions and beliefs.

The more students who run:

the more the 4th World March for Peace and Nonviolence team can spread the word and try to persuade leaders to use diplomatic and nonviolent means.
the stronger the 4th World March team will be able to advocate for a future without wars for the world’s youth.

That’s why all kilometers run by the students will be donated to the 4th World March for Peace and Nonviolence team to support efforts to end wars around the world.

Draw Me a Future Without Wars

In addition, the program is launching the Draw Me a Future Without Wars classroom workshop.

We embark on a journey through space and time and arrive on October 5, 2046, the interplanetary day of the Universal Human Nation. We arrive in a world without wars.

Details of the classroom workshop

The students choose objects they want to take with them on this journey through time. The students draw these objects. The objects must contribute to a culture of peace and nonviolence.

The students’ drawings will serve as race bibs during the Run This Way race. Throughout the fall, the race organizers will publish the students results on the Pressenza news agency website. They will also share photos of the races and students’ drawings.

Running for the right to have future without wars

Schools registered to Run This Way will receive all the information about the program and the classrooms workshops in August 2026.
