Bangladesh Finalizes National Program for ‘4th World March for Peace and Nonviolence in My City- 2026

Humanist Movement, Bangladesh Chapter has finalized a comprehensive series of national programs to mark the global campaign ‘4th World March for Peace and Nonviolence in My City- 2026’, scheduled to take place worldwide from September 21 to October 4.
The decision was finalized on Friday (August 14) during a strategic exchange meeting held at the Seminar Hall of the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC), Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) in Dhaka.
The finalized action plan includes a wide array of activities: distribution of awareness leaflets, a ‘Signing in Solidarity with the Peace March’ campaign, colorful rallies, seminars, a Peace Vigil show, and art competitions.
The meeting was chaired by Md. Nazrul Islam (Jashim), Special Representative of Humanist Movement, Bangladesh. Key international and regional figures participated in the discussion, including Mr. Declar Mendez Hague (Australia), South Asia Coordinator for the 4th World March for Peace and Nonviolence; Md. Mejanur Rahman Talukder Pasha, Member of the International Committee of The Community for Human Development; and Md. Maruf Ul Alam, Representative for Humanist Movement, Bangladesh and International Press Agency- Pressenza, Dhaka Bureau.
Also present were Sheikh Mohammad Arif, Panel Editor of Pressenza- Dhaka Bureau; Nurun Nahar Khan (Shikha), Representative of Humanist Movement, Bangladesh; freedom fighter (guerrilla commander) Md. Shafiqul Islam Kanu, Coordinator of the Agargaon Center; and Major (Retd.) Nur Islam.
Student leaders and representatives from the Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University Branch of the movement, including Tania Naznin Rifa, Taznuva Naoshin, Md. Shahadat Hossain Raj, and Shyam Sutradhar, actively attended the meeting. Masum Parvez Kollol, Coordinator of the Ishwardi Center, joined the session virtually via webinar.
To ensure widespread reach and local engagement, the national programs for the ‘4th World March for Peace and Nonviolence in My City- 2026’ will be executed simultaneously across multiple hubs in Bangladesh from September 21 to October 4. The activities will take place across five key centers: Uttara Center, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University Branch, Sonargaon Center (Panam City), Ishwardi Center, and Daudkandi (Comilla)Center.
