To understand the general crisis humankind is going through today we have to go back to the moment in history where the evolutionary direction of humankind was broken and deviated towards a dark path of generalised antihumanism and dehumanisation. That moment happened in Europe and was the start of what became the colonisation of the world by European nations. It started with the conquest and colonisation of a new continent which got the name America, followed by the conquest and colonisation of Africa, India, China and the rest of Asia, all done by a few European countries, namely Spain, Portugal, England, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany and Italy and during a period of several centuries until World War 2. There is not space enough here to go into details but the general interest and attitude of those countries was to conquer and subdue, even fighting between themselves for supremacy over the others.
This long process of dehumanisation deterred the evolutionary proces and threw it back to barbaric levels. The scale of suffering, atrocities and violent deaths grew exponentially until it exploded in the First and Second World Wars with devastating destruction as the pinacle of the several centuries of dehumanisation and destruction.
One might think that after WW2 there would start a deep reflection on the taken direction of fundamental violence which would redirect humankind on the evolutionary path for which it is destined. There were some initiatives and intentions in that direction, the forming of the United Nations as one of them. But it did not work and very soon the train thundered again in the same nefast and destructive direction in a ever accelerating speed. Most of the former colonies became neocolonised through economic domination and dependency on their former colonialists and western wars on Asian countries, Africa and the Middle East became the new way of domination.
What never changed was the endless enrichment of the few over the backs of the many. It is not difficult to recognise that today. And the dehumanisation has taken outrageous proportions. This dehumanising and antihumanist direction has lead humanity to the brink and insanity is florishing everywhere, with the politicians in power in the frontrows.
The Signal is clear and in front of every human being. That this cannot go any further. That something has to be done to redirect the human proces towards its preordained evolution as a species. But for this to happen Humankind has to wake up and ask themselves the fundamental question: Do I want to live and if yes, in what conditions do I want to live and am I disposed to create those conditions also for others?
It is high time that we ask ourselves this question and make it the reason for why we are born on this planet, namely, to Humanise the Earth, to humanise ourselves and the others, to treat the others as I myself would like to be treated.
The general and personal crisis is the constant signal that something is very and profoundly wrong. And that it is mentally, internally. When that problem is solved, individually and collectively, all the rest will be solved too and humankind can finally reemerge on its destined path, creating a world without any form of violence or discrimination, where the human being is the central and foremost value and every development, technological, medical, scientifical, is for the advancement and wellbeing of the whole of humankind.
This is not an Utopia, it is the necessary step humankind needs to take to evolve above its inner violence and open its horizon towards unexpected and unlimited possibilities.
